چکیده طرح پژوهشی:

In order to study of variation for yield and quality traits, 24 accessions of Agropyron trichophorum and 11 accessions of Agroyron intermadium were examined in two separate experiment using complete block design with three replications under normal and dry land farming system during 2006-2008 in Islamabad, Iran. Forage dry matter yield, plant height, stem number per plant, stem's internodes length, spike length, spikelet number per spike, flag leaf size and 5 quality traits as: dry matter digestibility (DMD), crude protein (CP) water soluble carbohydrates (WSC), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and total ash were evaluated. The data of two experiments were subjected to combined analyses over two conditions. The resistant genotypes were recognized based on 5 drought tolerance indices as: sensitivity to stress index (SSI), tolerance (TOL), mean productivity (MP), drought tolerant index (DTI), harmonic mean (MH) and geometrical mean of productivity (GMP), and finally the genotypes were classified based on cluster analysis. The Results of Ag. trichophorum showed that genotypes IO(Smirom), 24(Gorgan), 21 (Tehran), 5(Choharmahal) and 23(Mazandaran) had higher values for most of useful traits. Among them, the genotypes 24, 10 and 21 had higher forage quality than others. The genotypes 10, 5, 17, 24 and 23 showed the most resistant to drought stress. It was concluded that genotypes 24, 10 and 21 were recognized as the beast ones than others. For Ag. Intermadium, The results showed that genotypes 3 and 4 were ranked in the first place and 6, 5 and 11 in the second place. The genotypes No.4 had higher forage production and resistant to drought stress. But, for quality traits ranked in medium place, In contrast, the genotypes 6 had the best forage quality, but its values for forage yield and drought resistance was ranked in average place. The results of correlation among traits were similar I for both species. Forage yield had positive and significant correlation with plant height, flag leaf size, internodes length and stem number. The r~lationships among ADF and both DMD and WSC were strong negative. Key words: Agropyron trichophorum Agropyron intermedium, forage yield, Quality, drought indices, dry land farming system.
