PROTOTYPE SEISMIC QUALIFICATION STUDIES ON ۶۶ KV CURRENT TRANSFORMER

Prototype seismic qualification studies were conducted in the laboratory with the help of the shaking table on ۶۶ KV Current Transformer of Bhakra Bees Management Board, Punjab (India). The studies were conducted to ascertain its capability for withstan-ding earthquake forces corresponding to ۰.۳ sg'lhorizontal) acc-eleration in the expected earthquake frequency range. The frequ-ency response of the current transformer was also examined. It was observed that the current transformer satisfied the seismic qualification without showing any kind of mal-functioning or distress such as cracks, loosening of bolts, leakage of oil etc.
