چکیده مقاله:

The correlation between structural and optical properties of Ge-Sb-Se glassy system was the goalof this study. In this regards, several Se۶۰Ge۴۰-xSbx (۰≤x≤۲۵) glasses were prepared byconventional melt quenching technique. The prepared samples were characterized using X-raydiffraction (XRD), differential thermal analysis (DTA), ultraviolet- visible (UV-Vis-NIR) andFourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The fundamental absorption edge for all theglasses was analyzed in terms of the theory proposed by Davis and Mott. According to achievedresults, fully amorphous phase can easily form in different Ge-Sb-Se systems. The glass transitiontemperature and optical energy gap of the glassy Ge۴۰Se۶۰ were estimated about ۳۴۰ oC and ۱.۲۸e.V., respectively. The addition of antimony has deleterious effects on thermal and opticalbehaviors of Ge۴۰Se۶۰ glass. By increasing the antimony content up to ۲۵ mole%, the glasstransition temperature reaches to about ۲۴۹ oC. In this condition, the optical energy gap as well asIR transparency decreases to about zero. In fact, the Se۶۰Ge۱۵Sb۲۵ is opaque in infrared region.
