Explore the impact of entrepreneurship research on various academic fields

The notable rise of entrepreneurship as a scientific discipline in the past four decades has been facilitated by its capacity to assimilate theories, paradigms, and methodologies from diverse fields like economics, psychology, sociology, geography, and even biology. The academic standing of entrepreneurship is now evident as numerous other disciplines adopt perspectives from entrepreneurship. This paper explores seven instances of this reciprocal development, originally presented at the Erasmus Entrepreneurship Event seminar titled "What Does the Entrepreneurship View Offer to Other Academic Fields?" The article delves into the fundamental concepts of these presentations, emphasizing how entrepreneurship research influences the advancement of various academic domains. Our findings reveal that entrepreneurship research challenges the fundamental assumptions of other disciplines, offering fresh perspectives on the origins, mechanisms, and outcomes of their core phenomena. Additionally, entrepreneurship research plays a role in legitimizing other academic fields both in practical applications and scholarly contexts.
