چکیده مقاله:

The main purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between emotionalintelligence and Internet addiction in High school female students. The research methodwas descriptive-correlation. The research population was High school female of the ۲nddistrict of Tehran in the academic year of ۲۰۲۲-۲۰۲۳. Using the multi-stage clustersampling method, ۳۸۵ students were selected as a sample. The research tools were Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (BAR-ON-EQ) (۱۹۸۰) and Young InternetAddiction Questionnaires (۱۹۸۸). Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlationcoefficient and stepwise regression. findings showed that there is a positive and significantrelationship between the components of emotional intelligence and Internet addiction.Based on the results of this research, it can be said that by increasing students' emotionalintelligence, they can be prevented from becoming addicted to the internet
